Hildegonda Duckitt's Book of Recipes

Book of Recipes is a collection of traditional South African recipes assembled by Hildegonda Duckitt during her life from well-known South African families living about and near the Cape Peninsula.

Published in Cape Town in 1966 by A.A. Balkema. This edition is rare and hard to find, out of print.

Duckitt started collecting South African recipes as a teen, turning them into two successful cookbooks, later followed posthumously by Book of Recipes. Edited by Mary Kuttel, this cookbook is a selection of Duckitt’s best recipes that have proved themselves over the years, and are worthy of a place in the repertoire of the discriminating cook.
